Vladivostok bridge at sunrise

For a unique networking and business development opportunity, lawyers should attend the East Russia Economic Forum, 3-5 September 2015, in Vladivostok, Russia.

Organized by three ministries of the Russian federal government -- the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East, the Ministry of Economic Development, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs -- the East Russia Economic Forum will promote investment in the economic development of the Russian Far East and seek to expand Russian participation in the development of the Asia-Pacific region.

The East Russia Economic Forum also will showcase the recently created Vladivostok Free Port, which will have no customs duties, taxes, or fees for at least the next 70 years, as well as the recently enacted legislation that has created six Areas of Priority Social and Economic Development in the Far East Federal District of the Russian Federation.

Representatives of the business communities of China, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Singapore are expected to participate, as well as senior decision makers in banks, investment funds, and other financial institutions in the region. It will be a unique educational, networking, and business development opportunity for lawyers from law firms in Asia, as well as global firms with Asian practices, especially in the areas of PPP, infrastructure, direct foreign investment, and project finance.

At Walker Clark LLC, we forecast that by the year 2025 the Asian legal market, measured in terms of the total value of legal fees from that region, will be the largest in the world, and could be larger than the legal markets in the rest of the world combined. The development of the Russian Far East will be the fastest-growing part of that market.

The Russian government has announced that it will waive visa requirements for foreign participants in the conference.
