The Walker Clark Strategic Business Development Survey is serious strategic research. Here are the main steps:

Design a survey instrument especially for your firm. A Walker Clark reseacher confesr with your management and marketing team to define goals, design a survey structure, and develop questions that fit your firm, your practice specialties, and your client base. In addition to our standard questions, which we use to benchmark your firm's results against those of similar law firms, we include up to 20 customized questions specific to your firm. We also help you to identify and define those clients and potential clients who can provide the most reliable and valuable information.

Administer the client survey. We administer the survey to a group of up to 300 clients and potential clients of your firm. This is a confidential survey, in that we do not identify the source of any opinions or comments, unless the participant waives confidentiality.

Conduct a parallel internal survey. How well do your partners' awareness, assumptions, and opinions match the needs of your clients? Where are the gaps? In addition to the client survey, we also design and administer a confidential survey to your partners. This helps you to spot the most urgent needs and the greatest opportunities to improve your firm's delivery capabilities and competitive advantage.

Analyze and report the results. Walker Clark tabulates and analyzes the results of both surveys. A senior member of the Walker Clark team visits your firm for a half day, delivers the written report in person, and conducts a briefing on the survey results and Walker Clark analysis of their implications for the firm. This session ends with a facilitated discussion by the partners of the priorities and next steps for the firm.
Multilingual capabilities
Most of our clients prefer to conduct the survey in English to accommodate their multinational client base better. Multilingual surveys are available at a reasonable additional charge.
A single fixed fee
Walker Clark, LLC, conducts, tabulates, and analyzes business development surveys for a fixed fee that includes all of our expenses, even travel. Our fees range from US$ 3,900 to US$ 6,900, depending on the location of your firm. We offer substantial discounts to Walker Clark clients.
