Time: A Lawyer's Most Important Practice Management Tool

Kenya sunrise

In law firms, time really is money.

For busy lawyers, time can also be a trap or a tool.

This program explores time... how lawyers perceive it, how they use it, and how they document it.

An accurate, reliable system of time records is one of the most important tools that lawyers have to manage their practices.  There are direct correlations between strong time management skills and financial success in law firms.

Time --- The Lawyer's Most Important Practice Management Tool  is a unique professional development program that not only reinforces the importance of accurate timekeeping by fee earners, but also provides practical strategies by which individuals and groups can use time records to improve the efficiency, professional quality, and profitability of their work.

The principal components include:

  • A custom-designed developmental program specific to the practice, client base, and time and billing system of your law firm
  • A six-hour business meeting to explore the concepts, tools, and methods in depth

  • Individual action plans and coaching by Walker Clark team members for 90 days after the meeting, in order to help each participant apply the program's knowledge, skills, and tools to his or her practice

Who should participate?

This program is intended for all law firm fee earners.  It can be customized to meet the experience and responsibilities of each fee earner group (such as partners, associates, paralegals, legal assistants, or other non-lawyer billing professionals).
