The law firms that are most effective at managing a business crisis have usually mastered two management skills.
First of all, when the crisis occurs, they have anticipated it. Firms with good crisis management skills might be surprised when the crisis appears, but it is not totally unexpected. As part of this preparation, these firms have also identified signs or indicators that the crisis is about to arise.
Second, the firm’s management knows what to do when the crisis appears. They might not have a detailed contingency plan ready to activate; but they have identified the basic objectives and sequence of actions for their response. The plan is seldom perfect, but it enables the firm to respond appropriately during the critical early hours of the crisis.
Crisis Management for Law Firms is an intensive one-day working session to improve practical skills in anticipating and responding to a business crisis. Rather than rely on general management theory and "best practices," we customize the program to the specific economics, practice, client base, and management resources in your firm. By the end of the day, you will have identified the most serious business risks for your firm. You will also be able to spot a business crisis while it is still on the horizon and to prepare to respond to it.
This program is available for delivery in English or Spanish. We charge a fixed fee, which includes our expenses and disbursements -- including travel.
Who should participate?
Crisis Management for Law Firms is designed for lawyers and senior functional managers.
